People are asking us

We stock a wide range of practical marine accessories including fender lines, fender cleats, mooring lines, and boat cleaning products. Our range is chosen to complement our fender collection and cover the everyday needs of UK boat owners. All accessories are sourced from trusted marine brands and held in UK stock for fast delivery.

Fender line size depends on the weight and size of your vessel. As a general guide, 6mm diameter lines suit smaller boats and tenders, 8mm is suitable for most cruisers and motor boats, and 10mm or above is recommended for larger yachts. The length should allow the fender to hang at the correct height alongside your hull without touching the water.

Fender cleats are fittings that attach to your boat’s guardrail or toerail and allow you to quickly attach and adjust fender lines without tying knots. They provide a secure, rattle-free fixing point that makes deploying and repositioning fenders much faster. Fender cleats are a popular upgrade for any boat used regularly in marinas or alongside pontoons.

A fender line is used to attach a fender to your boat and suspend it at the correct height alongside the hull. A mooring line secures your boat to a dock, cleat, or buoy. The two serve different purposes — fender lines are lighter and shorter, while mooring lines are heavier duty and designed to absorb the load of the vessel.

Fender cleats are not essential — fenders can be tied directly to guardrails or stanchions using a fender hitch knot. However, cleats make attaching and adjusting fenders much quicker and easier, especially when coming alongside in a busy marina. If you find yourself frequently repositioning fenders, cleats are a worthwhile and affordable addition to your boat.

Our boat cleaning range includes specialist cleaners and care products designed for marine use on GRP, fibreglass, and painted surfaces. Products are chosen to be safe for use around the water and effective at removing salt, algae, fender marks, and general grime. Check our Boat Cleaning category for the full range, including hull cleaners and protective treatments.

Choose mooring lines based on your boat’s length and displacement. Longer and heavier boats need thicker, stronger lines. Nylon is the most popular choice as it stretches slightly to absorb shock loads from waves and wash. As a rule of thumb, use lines with a diameter of approximately 1mm for every metre of boat length, with at least four mooring lines for secure berthing.
